Met Amy's Family

Amy and Michael had planned for some of her family to come over to their apartment and eat dinner with us.  They are very nice people and Amy made a good dinner.  It was similar to an Italian wedding soup but with cabbage rather than pasta.  After dinner we ate Amy's dark chocolate brownies, ice cream and played Uno.  It was a very nice time with nice people.  We did not realize we missed taking ANY pictures when they were over until the next day.  I guess that is a sign of how good a time we had...

Thursday morning Michael had an appointment so we hung around the apartment.  About 10:30 Amy’s little sister Isabella came over to play.  She was a little worried when meeting Zeus but after a little while she was doing better and playing with his balls.  We decided to go to Lake Draper so she could play on the playground and Zeus could get outside.  Matt & I left Michael, Amy, & Isabella at the playground and headed out to explore the lake.  We walked down by the water at first but it quickly became muddy and there was broken glass scattered so we moved up to one of the closed roads.  We walked and let Zeus explore and found a nice picnic table in the shade to watch the water.  The others went back to the apartment early and we stayed to enjoy the nice 70 degree weather.  After a while we left and drove down town to the local central park to look around.  It was a nice park with a small stream flowing through and a small performance stage.  We stopped at the snack stand to order ice cream and ended up with a bag of dog biscuits and doggie water bowl for Zeus.  Then we headed over to the dog park which was not muddy like the other.  We sat there for a while until Zeus was board because no other doggies came to play.  We walked outside of the Botanical gardens and Zeus was excited to see the ducks swimming in the water.  Then we walked two blocks to Coney Island Hot Dogs and ordered a hotdog and Fritos pie and ate it at the park.  After a fun filled day exploring outside we went back to Michael’s apartment because Amy was cooking dinner and her family was coming to visit.

This morning we decided to have breakfast out at a crepery that Michael enjoys.  There were many sweet and savory crepes to enjoy.  Rachel had a spinach & mushroom, the guys had a sausage and pepper, and we all shared a smore crepe.  After that we decided to take Zeus to a local dog park.  In fact it was the one Michael had taken him to when he was a puppy.  Zeus had fun running around and met some new friends.  Due to the rain the night before it was very muddy and puppy got very dirty.  After playing in the dog park we took a walk around the park along the creek.  When we got back to Michael’s apartment he needed a bath so Matt & Michael worked hard to clean puppy in the tub.  That evening Amy returned from work and made green enchiladas for dinner.
