October 2015 Zeus pics

October 24, 2015 Lexington, NC

On our way back to Virginia we made an overnight stop in Lexington, NC.  We stayed in an RV resort Forest Lake Preserve.  The wooded rows were lined with RV's with light strings shining.  The resort had a lake and club house with a TV.  That evening we got take out at Southern Lunch and took it back to eat at the lake.  In the morning we dropped Zeus at doggie daycare to head out to the BBQ festival.  It was nice were we dropped him off we were able to park and walk to the festival.  The festival was fun with BBQ stations, country music, and crafts for sale.  We bought Lily & Daniel and picture with their name painted on by a Asian man.

October 21, 2015 Summit Rock Table hike, NC

This was a hike we found that took a little of time not just to drive to the parking area but to hike.  The drive to the parking area was on this tiny twisty gravel road that had many switch backs.  Lots of dips and bumps and dust flying which made Matt glad we had the truck because the prius never could have made the clearance.  At the parking lot we starting on the hike around and up the mountain to the summit above.  One way was a hour hike.

October 20, 2015 Linville falls hike, NC

Near the Linville falls campground was a visitor center where you can hike to the Linville falls.  It is a nice easy hike up and then decend down to the base of the falls.  Further up the mountain is an observation area to view the falls from a distance.
