Samuel Adams Brewery, Boston MA

Well, I was right, it was a little early to drink but I am glad we went anyway.  They told us about the four brewing ingredients (hops, malted barley, water and yeast), the fact that there are only two types of beer in the world (differentiated by the type of yeast used, Ale or Lager) and that all the variations come from the differences in method and what ingredients they use beyond the 4 primaries.  They gave us a glass (about 5 oz) and a surprising amount of beer in pictures.  We knew two of the three samples, their traditional and the Octoberfest but the other one was a trial they might market, a simple medium bodied wheat beer that was OK but lacked complexity IMO.
