Another thing that I never knew I really wanted to see was
the tidal bore. Like the Hopewell Rocks,
this was also very cool. What happens is
that the tide rises so quickly that the river, which reverses direction, that a
4 (+/- 1 foot) wave of water rushes up the river. I was excited to begin with but once a surfer
entered the knee deep muddy water I was doubly excited because not only would I
be able to watch him ride it but it also gave us a good measuring stick to get
a feel for how high the wave really is.

Before pic and that tiny dot is the surfer. |
|
Can you see the wave coming? |
|
Can you see him riding the wave? |
|
Shortly after this point he lost the wave, so sad. :( |
|
This is the wave passing us. |
|
Our celebrity surfer, if you look closely he has a camera on his forehead. |

This is the sign at the entrance with the estimated times of the tidal bore. |

After a exciting time viewing the tidal bore we decided to finally visit a Tim Hortons. This is a very, very popular aka coffee/fast food place throughout Canada. Like our Starbucks there is one on almost every corner. When we walked in it seemed familiar, and I realized it's just like a Dunkin Donuts. It has donuts, muffins, biscuits (similar to scones), coffee, and sandwiches. Yep Dunkin Donuts. |

Breakfast bagel, a little different but good. |
