Aransas N.W.R.

After leaving Padre Island we headed north and decided to stop and visit  Aransas  National Wildlife Refuge.  It is right on the coast and a nice place to visit.
At the southern end of the park this is the tower to look out over the water.  I thought it looked like a old roller coaster.

This is the view from the tower.  This park is famous for it's Whopping Cranes.  Every fall the Whooping cranes leave their summer home in Canada and migrate to this park in the winter.  If you have a telescope and look carefully you can see the Whooping Cranes.

Look carefully, there are solar panels on top of these restrooms.

We decided to drive the 16 mile tour around the park, we only viewed a deer.
