Auto Mile Diner, Saco Maine

This morning we woke up at 5 to get moving and were showered and packed by 6 so we went to the Auto Mile Diner based on the recommendation of the woman who checked us in at the KOA.  It was a VERY small diner, 7 tables, and the guy appeared to run the whole thing solo but it was good.  Gary, the owner/chef/waiter, talked with us for a few minutes and gave me a special that was not on the menu, berry stuffed French toast and Rachel got a Asparagus omelet.  Mine was GOO-O-O-OD.  He took French toast, put sweetened cream cheese on it and then topped it with blue berries and the last of his black berries from his home garden and then put whipped cream around the side to frame it.  It was Triple D worth is all I can say.  I wish I had thought about it but I should have told him that the meal was worth the poison ivy he got this year because it infested his garden.  Rachel’s meal was good as you might expect though he overcooked the asparagus a little.
