Mapparium, Boston MA

The Mapparium was very cool.  It is a glass sphere of how the globe was in 1930.  The guide played a short AV presentation and then pointed out the coolest part of being in a glass sphere, the acoustics.  You could stand on either side (there was a bridge connecting the two sides so head level was the center of the sphere) and whisper to the person across the way and it sounded like you were whispering in their ear and if you stood in the middle it sounded like you were in the center of a sphere of speakers.  Unlike the dork from New Zealand with us on the Sam Adams tour, the NZer who stayed behind with us to play was funny.  He joked about letting one rip right in the center and enjoying the satisfaction.
